Verb – Participles as Adjectives

Fyll i rätt participform av verbet inom parentes.
  • In Swedish, participles (verb forms like "stängd", "trött", "inbokad") can be used as adjectives to describe nouns or subjects.
  • Present participles (ending in -ande/-ende) describe ongoing states, e.g. "ett leende barn" (a smiling child).
  • Past participles agree with the noun they describe in gender and number, e.g. "ett bokat möte" / "en bokad tid".
  • Participles used as predicates follow the same agreement rules: "Dörren är stängd" but "Rummet är stängt".
  • Pay attention to the noun's gender (en/ett) and number (singular/plural) when choosing the correct form.
