Verb – Participles as Adjectives

- Participles are verb forms that can work as adjectives in Swedish.
- A present participle (e.g. leende, stressande) describes an ongoing quality.
- A past participle (e.g. stängd, tvättad, trasig) describes a resulting state.
- Participles must agree with the noun they describe in gender and number.
- Pay attention to whether the noun is en-word, ett-word, or plural/definite.
